Cricket

Cricket is a bat-and-ball team sport primarily played between two teams of eleven players each on a circular or oval-shaped field. The central feature of the game is a 22-yard-long pitch with wickets at both ends, comprising three stumps topped by two bails. The game involves two main roles: batsmen, who score runs by hitting a ball delivered by a bowler with a bat, and fielders, who attempt to prevent runs and dismiss the batsmen by catching the ball or hitting the wickets.

The objective is to score more runs than the opposing team. Cricket matches can vary in format, including Test matches, which can last up to five days, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 (T20) games, which are limited to a specific number of overs.

Cricket is governed internationally by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and has a rich history, particularly in countries like England, Australia, India, and Pakistan, where it is immensely popular. The game emphasizes strategy, skill, and teamwork, making it a complex and engaging sport.
