Sociology

Sociology is the systematic study of society, social institutions, and social relationships. It examines how individuals and groups interact, the structures that govern societal norms, values, and behaviors, and the patterns of social order and change. Sociologists analyze various aspects of social life, including culture, social stratification, race, ethnicity, gender, family dynamics, education, and religion. The discipline seeks to understand the underlying social forces that shape human behavior and experiences, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative research methods. By exploring how societies function and how social systems influence individual lives, sociology provides insights into social problems and informs policy-making to address issues such as inequality, crime, health disparities, and community development.
